Dear BeLoose members,
I just finished a 7 day graphic workshop at South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. Wow, such a remarkable group with so many great people with great attitude. Nearly everyone left the workshop with big improvement not only on their graphic skill, but also with their confidence level.
I hope everyone will continue to draw and improve graphic skill daily, and will share the learned knowledge with others so we all will enjoy our lives more comfortably as designers.
Thanks for your coming to this life changing experience, it is truly my honor and privilege to have you, especially to three teaching assistants Kristin, Tommy and Pancho who have helped this workshop immensely to make your expectation possible. Please keep in touch.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and wisdom. The workshop exceeded my expectations. I had wanted to take your workshop for many years on the advice of a friend and mentor. But I procrastinated. That was a big mistake on my part. You have brought out of me talent that I never knew existed. I am grateful for having the opportunity to share in your insight. I have also forged relationships with new friends because of the time we spent together in and out of class. Thanks again Mike. I now understand the meaning and purpose of "BeLoose". I will now be a part of my life.

Permalink Reply by Jeannie Marcucci on January 19, 2012 at 7:11pm The workshop was incredible--personally and professionally--just awesome. I was concerned I wouldn't have the stamina to last until midnight but I was so engaged in the drawing that the time just flew by. Of course I had to see the massage therapist upon my return for bustin' those moves....:)

Hi Mike,
I also wanted to say thank you again for a fantastic workshop experience in Las Vegas. Not only did I learn a lot about graphics, drawing, and perspective, but I learned a lot from you about teaching. There were also some great life lessons in the mix as well. Your class was a lot of hard work, but incredibly inspiring and definitely improved my drawing confidence. Thank you too for your generosity with materials, information and the banquet on our last evening together. Please extend my thanks to your first wife JoAnn as well. Your assistants were also very helpful and I know their work in coordinating rides, food, materials, set up and tear down all made for a more successful workshop for all of us.
I hope we have the opportunity to meet again soon, and I will encourage all my students to join your website group. It’s a great site with a lot of valuable information. I will be out in San Francisco sometime in March and if you’re around perhaps we could meet up. In the meantime, take care, travel and enjoy your life.
Mike,
I just wanted to send you a note thanking you and your wife once again for the Vegas workshop. It was a wonderful experience and I greatly appreciated you opening your home and suite to us. I think a lot of the bonding of our group started there and proceeded long into the evening. I am definitely in the top five of my family. I would also like to say that I thought the TA’s were a wonderful group and really helped me get through some of the exercises.
I will keep in touch with updates on my progress and maybe a picture of the first job that I sell because of what I learned this last week!
Take care,

Thank you for your generosity of knowledge and time during the workshop. I learned many tools which will help me with my drawing. Now I need to practice, practice, practice! Thanks also goes out to the great TA's who provided me with guidance, patience and a true willingness to extend their knowledge to me.
Cheers,

Thanks again for another amazing workshop experience! Both workshops were amazing in their own right and I learned a tremendous amount in such a short amount of time.
I attended my first workshop in San Francisco just prior to entering graduate school for design. I hadn't picked up a drawing utensil in 8 years and was hoping to have a miracle transformation in one week's time. I never felt behind or embarrassed by my drawing skills and emerged with a skill set in rendering and drawing that was immediately applicable to my program. Most of all, the "be loose" attitude you taught us helped me to manage an extremely intensive course load with ease.
A year and a half later my desire to make all my work "perfect" started to overshadow your message to be loose and I needed a Mike Lin refresher... so I came back to see you in Vegas! While I wasn't embodying the be loose attitude in my work, I was amazed at how loose and easily the drawing came this time around. Being a part of a non-drawing design profession (for the most part), it was exciting to be drawing amongst some seriously talented architects, interior architects, and landscape architects and to see that my work could be comparable with your tricks. Tommy, Pancho, and Kristin (TA's) were also instrumental in making this such a great experience for me. I appreciate all the effort everyone put into making this workshop what it was. I'm happy to take your amazing life and drawing philosophy home to Chicago with me.
I wish all my fellow friends, colleagues, and family members could experience a little Mike Lin in their life.
Oh yeah, and thanks for putting up with the dancing, singing, loudness, sassiness, and bubbliness that compromises my personality... not an easy task but sure adds some "zig zag!"
Best Wishes for the future!

It's been two weeks since your workshop ended, and I still have all your jokes and funny comments running through my head. You truly made becoming a better artist and designer easy and enjoyable. I've been showing my "before" and "after" drawings to everyone I know, and they can't believe how much I improved in just a week. The overall experience of BeLoose was amazing: the advice, the learning process, the people, etc. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is "not done yet" with their drawings. Thank you so much for everything you've done. I look forward to seeing you again in June!

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed taking your workshop. I feel like I not only learned a lot about perspectives and drawing techniques, but I also left feeling truly inspired - I couldn't wait to come home and just continue with everything that we had been learning. Your sense of humor kept me laughing through the whole week; your jokes and attitude made the whole experience that much more enjoyable, and will make me remember everything that you taught that much more. Thank you!
