About Mike Lin



Mike W. Lin is currently the Director of the Mike Lin Graphic and Design Workshop in Burlingame, California USA. He is a registered landscape architect and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI). His degrees include an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Taiwan, and a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin.

Mike Lin has been recognized by his peers as one of the leaders in his field as well as one of the best and most sought after graphics instructors in the country and around the world. He has taught design, graphics and presentation classes for the last thirty years. During this time he has given numerous graphic workshops and seminars at over one hundred universities, and many organizations and professional firms across the United States, Canada and around the world. Several societies (AIA, AIBD, ALCA, ANLA, ASAI, ASID, and ASLA.) have invited Mike Lin to share his great expertise with their members so they can improve their skills more efficiently. Because of the uniqueness and effectiveness of his teaching style, he has received many recognitions and awards including the Outstanding Teaching Award from Kansas State University in 1986. To date, more than 250,000 people have participated in this great experience not only to improve their graphic capability but to also enrich their quality of life.

Mr. Lin is the author of "Drawing and Designing with Confidence, A Step-by-Step Guide" and "Architectural Rendering Techniques , a Color Reference.". Mike's fourth book titled "Architectural Illustrations" will be soon on the market shortly. He currently teaches very popular graphic workshops that are well received and respected by the design communities. The graphic workshops include two-day coast to coast for general public, and two-day on site workshops requested by many firms, universities and organizations throughout the world.

 

About Brian Lin

Brian Lin is an Urban Planner with 10 years of experience in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture. He received his degree in Landscape Architecture at CalPoly San Luis Obispo, and has worked for Belt Collins in Hawaii, Sasaki Associates Inc. and EDAW Inc. in San Francisco. He is currently a Senior Urban Planner with NBBJ, Inc. in San Francisco. He was involved on a myriad of high-profile projects, including a new mega hotel/casino development in Macao, China and the Olympic Forest Park District and Grand Axis for the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Brian has assisted Mike Lin with numerous teaching engagements nationwide at universities, organizations and private firms with great acclaim. His commitment and dedication to teaching and the empowerment he gives to participants has helped the Mike Lin Graphic Workshop become one of the most sought-after graphic and design workshops in the world.
